Lindsey, we went in early August. There was a very small trickling stream before the scree started on the last bit of the hike to get up to the camps

What time of year did you guys go? We have a permit for July 14-16 this year. Is there a trail to get down to Doubtful Lake for a water source or just view of the lake from the summit?

It will be challenging for a beginner but doable! The worst case is you can just do the first half of the hike to the lakes which is a great viewpoint in itself, and you can see Sahale Glacier from below, and if you don’t feel like going to the top you can turn around from there (there’s no camping at the lakes however, so it’d just be a day trip. Hope that helps!
