The last section of the hike is completely scree, so lots of rock scrambling. But other than that, it is just a well-maintained trail with a lot of switchbacks.

Lindsey, we went in early August. There was a very small trickling stream before the scree started on the last bit of the hike to get up to the camps

What time of year did you guys go? We have a permit for July 14-16 this year. Is there a trail to get down to Doubtful Lake for a water source or just view of the lake from the summit?
